DLF91S DOB 1/30/06 BW 108; WW 790; YW 980. Horned Full Fleckvieh Fullblood female. There are only a few solid colored red headed Full Fleckvieh Fullblood female around but none nearly as good as Scarlett. The rumor mill had been working overtime talking about this very dark red heifer by the time I heard of her. We were fortunate to be able to negotiate Donna and Bill up to the purchase price they really wanted and bought her as a calf based upon what they told me and pictures. We have yet to see her, as of 9/1/07, because she is “stuck” in Canada due to the BSE border closure. She is sired by Painter, the solid red bull who is shown on this website as one of our semen bulls. Scarlett’s dam is a heavily pigmented female bred by Spruceburn and is part of a really great cow family that has produced well for Spruceburn.
We plan to transplant Scarlett, starting in 2008 after she has her first calf, breeding her to Nitro. They appear to be a perfect match and the offspring will likely be solid colored and polled.
